In summer, tourism is booming in Dinant. When the sun is shining, the city center and the banks of the Meuse are bustling. Day-trippers and vacationers alike flock to this Meuse city to discover all its charms.

There's no shortage of activities. It's impossible not to mention the famous bathtub race, which takes place on August 15th. A crowd is guaranteed if the weather is nice, and a full-on bath awaits the participants who dare to take the plunge.

Flea market and craft market

Dates: June 29, 2025 and July 21

Location: Dinant

Description :

Two events on the same day:

– A flea market for those who love to hunt for bargains. It will take place in the city centre, extending to the Saint-Nicolas district.

– A market for creators and producers, in the Saint-Nicolas district: pottery, jewelry, textiles, food products… there will be something for everyone.

And on Bastille Day, July 21st, a large flea market will be held near the Charles de Gaulle Bridge. Fireworks will follow at 11 p.m.

 

The medieval festival of Montaigle and the Crochon festival

Dates: July 5 and 6, 2025

Location: Falaen

Description :

The Medieval Festival at the Ruins of Montaigle is a series of events that bring this long-dormant castle back to life. Medieval reenactments, falconry displays, and of course, food and drink. 

Discover it in an enchanting and historically rich setting, in the Molignée valley.

Nearby in Falaen, the crochon (a small cheese and bacon roll) and Li Crochon beer are being celebrated by the eponymous brotherhood. An Adeps walk is even planned. A great opportunity to stretch your legs and get some exercise.

Provençal market in Maredsous

Dates: July 9-13, 2025

Location: Maredsous Abbey

Description :

Southern France sets up shop near Maredsous Abbey, offering a Provençal market. 

Open from 10am to 7pm. It's local produce, but not entirely from here. 

Mr. Sax's Sundays

Dates: from July 13, 2025

Location: Dinant (Saint-Nicolas district)

Description :

Every Sunday afternoon, starting July 13th, jazz bands stroll through the streets of Dinant. They depart around 2 pm for a musical walk to the Maison de M. Sax.

The Dinant Jazz Festival

Dates: July 25-27, 2025

Location: Leffe

Description :

Join us in the park of Leffe Abbey for the 2025 edition of this jazz festival. Information is available on the organizers' website:dinant

Dinant International Bathtub Regatta

Dates: August 15, 2025

Location: Dinant (on the Meuse river)

Description :

A truly unique event, drawing crowds and showcasing makeshift boats that all share one thing in common: they're constructed from bathtubs and have no means of propulsion. Good times and entertainment are guaranteed for both participants and spectators.
