The Neffe district

Located less than two kilometers from the center of Dinant, the residential neighborhood of Neffe is a haven of peace. Bisected by a main road that runs alongside the Meuse River, traffic is never heavy. You are on the outskirts of Dinant, relatively speaking, given the size of the town.

Neffe itself is unremarkable, apart from a few private houses nestled on the left bank of the Meuse. However, Neffe offers a splendid view of the Rocher Bayard, a particularly popular tourist attraction. And if you're staying in one of our two gîtes, you can admire the Rocher Bayard at your leisure, as well as the boats on the river.

Neffe is a convenient base for your stay in Dinant, offering:

• A peaceful setting : This quiet, shopless neighborhood offers invaluable tranquility, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Parking is easy and free, unlike in the center of Dinant.

• Close to nature : Neffe is near numerous hiking trails, along the Meuse or in the Lesse valley. The RAVeL (autonomous network roads) is accessible less than 500 meters away.

• Convenient access : In just a few minutes by car or bicycle, you can reach the center of Dinant, with its restaurants, shops, and attractions. In the opposite direction, you'll arrive at Anseremme, the starting point for the descent of the Lesse River, and also a peaceful place for a stroll, where you'll find shops and restaurants.

• Public transport A bus line serves Neffe. Dinant train station is 2 km away, and Anseremme station is roughly the same distance. If you enjoy slow tourism or traveling by public transport, our cottages are a perfect option.

Finally, don't let the proximity of the river worry you, even though it rains regularly in Belgium. The last time the river overflowed its banks was in 2003!

You will undoubtedly never tire, during your stay in one of our cottages, of observing the Meuse River, the Rocher Bayard, and the movement of riverboats. It is a relaxing sight.

However, at the rear of the house, you have access to a private landscaped garden and its amenities. No doubt these will also provide you with relaxation and well-being, just like the tranquil waters of the Meuse.

The garden at Gîtes Kangourou Dinant is a haven of greenery where it is pleasant to relax.

• Outdoor spaces : Enjoy the terraces for al fresco dining or simply to savor a moment of peace and quiet. A barbecue area is available for convivial gatherings.

• Plants and themed gardens : The bonsai garden offers a unique Zen touch, while ornamental plants enhance the setting. We are currently developing this garden, focusing on plants with lasting flowers. We are also planning to create a small herb garden with aromatic and other medicinal plants.

• Welcoming local wildlife : Bird feeders are installed near the terraces, inviting winged visitors to grace your stay with their presence. You might even spot some, especially in winter.

• An outdoor play area : we preserve a lawn area, for example for playing badminton.

The ornamental garden is an ideal place to recharge, read a book or simply enjoy the peace and quiet, when the weather permits.

Whether you are in one or the other of our cottages, the bay windows at the rear allow you to contemplate the garden, if the weather does not permit you to go outside.

The secure garage and laundry area

Two other convenient facilities in the cottages also ensure a comfortable and carefree stay.

• Secure Garage : Whether you're traveling with bicycles, motorcycles, or outdoor sports equipment, our garage offers a secure space to store your gear. It's easily accessible from both inside and outside, as it's part of the house, located in the basement, and accessible via a ramp.

• Laundry room : Located in the basement, this space includes a washing machine and a condenser dryer, accessible at any time. The appliances can run at any hour without disturbing anyone. 

These amenities make Gîtes Kangourou Dinant a practical choice for active travelers or extended stays. They are shared between the two cottages and sharing them poses no problem.

Eco-responsible lodge

We are delighted to share our commitment to the environment. We strive to integrate it into every aspect of our cottages.

• Sustainable renovation : Our cottages have been renovated using natural materials and products to ensure minimal environmental impact. For example, the walls were insulated with lime-hemp blocks, and we used clay as plaster.
• Solar energy production : Thanks to our solar panels, we produce some of the electricity needed to run the cottages. The panels are installed on the white building at the back of the garden.
• Responsible water management : A rainwater harvesting tankhas been installed near the terraces. It is intended to supply water to the toilets, as part of a sustainable water management approach. It is not yet connected to the mains water supply.
• Recycling : We provide recycling bins to encourage effective recycling. In each kitchen, a compost bin is placed next to the sink.
