Welcome to our home catalogue of circular hiking trails in Dinant… and the Dinant. Here we offer a selection of hikes for all types of footwear: from beginners and less experienced hikers (short distances or easy routes) to seasoned hikers (longer distances or more challenging routes).
The routes are classified by distance, into four categories:
– 5 to 10 km
– 10 to 15 km
– 15 to 20 km
– more than 20 km.
For each route, we indicate:
– the departure point
– the distance
– the level of difficulty (from 1 to 3 shoes)
– the main points of interest for hiking
Next, in the coloured banner under each presentation, you will find a link to a blog article dedicated to the itinerary (reproducedin the gîte's notebooks).
For each loop hike, you will find a detailed description of the route, some photos , and the GPS track. This track is provided via the Komoot app.
Regardless of the distance, we recommend bringing a map of the route, downloading it to your mobile phone so you can consult it offline. While many areas of the region are very beautiful, some have poor mobile phone coverage. It's best to have the map accessible offline.
Finally, we can only encourage you to respect the general hiking guidelines, starting with good walking shoes.

Loop hike in Neffe
- Distance : 5.3 km
- Elevation gain : 130 meters
- Difficulty : 1 shoe
- Departure point : Neffe – Les Gîtes Kangourou Dinant. Possibility of departure from Maison Leffe.

Discover Dinant on foot
- Distance : 9.9 km (or even 10!)
- D+ : 70 meters (a D+ equal to zero does not exist in Dinant)
- Difficulty : 1 shoe
- Departure point Cottages Dinant. Possibility of departure from the city centre (near the Charles de Gaulle Bridge).

- Confluence of the Lesse and the Meuse
- Rocher Bayard
- Dinant city center
Hiking in Anseremme on the Lesse side
- Distance : 8 km
- Elevation gain : 180 meters
- Difficulty : 1 to 2 hiking boots (some trails are rough)
- Departure point : Anseremme, parking near the church. It is possible to arrive in Anseremme by train or bus.
- Points of interest :
- Confluence of the Lesse and the Meuse
- Meanders of the Lesse
- The frightened deer trail and the Castel Pont à Lesse site
Hiking in Anseremme on the Meuse side
- Distance : 9.7 km
- Elevation gain : 160 meters
- Difficulty : 1 to 2 shoes (given the average gradient of 11% over 1 km)
- Starting point : Kangourou Gîtes Dinant (alternative starting point possible in Anseremme, which reduces the hike to 7 km).

Loop hikes in Dinant : 10 to 15 km
Hike in Waulsort towards the waterfalls
- Distance : 11.7 km
- Elevation gain : 320 meters
- Difficulty : 1 to 2 hiking boots (due to the elevation gain – more than 300 meters over barely 12 km)
- Starting point : Waulsort, parking lot located behind the "Le Rio" Tavern.
- Points of interest :
- The Waterfalls
- The Cascatelles Hermitage
- The village of Waulsort
- The water ferryman (in season)
Loop hike in Houyet
- Distance : 13.8 km
- Elevation gain : 170 meters
- Difficulty : 1 shoe (some sections may be muddy in wet weather)
- Departure point : Houyet (train station)
- Points of interest :
- The Lesse
- The confluence of the Iwoigne and the Lesse
- the Royal Station or Halt
- Pascal Artisant
Loop hikes in Dinant : 15 to 20 km
Loop hike in Furfooz
- Distance : 15 km
- Elevation gain : 330 meters
- Difficulty : 2 to 3 hiking boots (because some sections are steep and rugged (and slippery in wet weather – for experienced hikers)
- Departure point : Furfooz, parking near the Les Nutons hall. Alternative departure point: Gendron-Celles train station (near the embarkation point for the Lesse river descent).

- Distance : 16.7 km
- Elevation gain : 310 meters

- Devant-Bouvignes Nature Reserve
Loop hike in Bouvignes
- Distance : 19.3 km
- Elevation gain : 350 meters
- Difficulty : 2 shoes (for the elevation gain and distance)
- Departure location : Bouvignes.

- Bouvignes and the ruins of Crévecoeur

- Molignée Valley
- Boatmen's Path in Sommière

- Distance : 17.5 km
- Elevation gain : 240 meters

Loop hike from Neffe to Waulsort
- Distance : 25.5 km (if passing through the lock – the hike can be shortened by taking the water crossing)
- Elevation gain : 410 meters
- Difficulty : 2 shoes (for the length).
- Departure point : Neffe – Les Gîtes Kangourou Dinant. Possibility of departure from Maison Leffe.
