Who are your hosts?

Presentation via a Proust questionnaire

Proust Questionnaire

We hope to have the opportunity to meet in person to get to know each other better. In the meantime, rather than telling you our life story, we invite you to discover us through a Proust Questionnaire. Or more precisely, something similar.

You will notice: our mascot even played along with the Proust questionnaire.

Who is Anne?

Favorite flower?

The peony, for its ephemeral beauty and elegance.

Favorite place in Dinant ?

Where I live, with all the possibilities for walks in the surrounding area.

The dish I cook to perfection?

Couscous, including its vegetarian version.

The animal I would choose to be?

A falcon, high in the blue sky.

A particular hobby?

Practicing yoga, and also teaching it.

Anne

Who is Marc?

Favorite flower?

Borage. Its name doesn't sound very poetic. But it's a lovely plant, because its flowers are edible and they attract bees.

Favorite place in Dinant ?

Burinfosse, a little-known place in Dinant , where I plan to create a large permaculture forest garden with the help of Michel.

The dish I cook to perfection?

Tarte tatin, provided Anne doesn't interfere and I choose the right apples!

The animal I would choose to be?

A cat, for its independence and because it always lands on its feet.

A particular hobby?

Going for a hike, or plunging my hands into the soil of my vegetable garden.

Marc

Who is Michel?

Favorite flower?

The Japanese maple, for its beautiful colors in autumn.

Favorite place in Dinant ?

The garden at Gîtes Kangourou, which I tend. And in particular the area of the garden where I place my bonsai trees. You'll notice it: it's a large basin placed on a ledge, near the chalet.

The dish I cook to perfection?

Spaghetti with Bolognese sauce (ask those who have already tasted it).

The animal I would choose to be?

A horse, because we understand each other well.

A particular hobby?

Gardening, because it relaxes me, and photography (especially birds and animals in nature).

In fact, I'm the one who photographed the birds and ducks that you can see in the dining room of the Petit Kangourou guesthouse.

Michael

Who is our mascot?

Favorite flower?

Silk eucalyptus.

OK, I know it's a leaf and not a flower. Michel didn't name a flower either… I love the way the silk eucalyptus never fades… just like my smile.

Favorite place in Dinant ?

The terrace of the DinantCitadel. I dream of jumping up there, without taking the stairs or the cable car. I advise you against trying it: you don't have legs like mine! Take the cable car or the stairs.

The dish I cook to perfection?

Cotton salad, a specialty that only a plush kangaroo can master. It's light, airy, and completely indigestible for humans.

The human being I would choose to be?

This little reporter accompanied by a dog… his name escapes me.

I'd like to travel like him. Without a dog, though, because the space is already taken in my front pocket.

A particular hobby?

Like Anne, I love yoga.

My favorite position is the relaxed kangaroo position, ideal for staying flexible and fluffy.

P.S. to humans: the term "fluffy" refers to something soft, downy, and cuddly. Which is exactly what all plush toys dream of being when they touch you.

The lodge notebooks

If you walk through the front door of our cottages, you'll quickly notice our mascot. She's sitting in the entrance hall. We've entrusted her with our guestbook. Rest assured, she'll be eager to open it and read any comments you may have left.

We are also fortunate to have two other kangaroos, laser-cut into a wooden circle. They join us in welcoming you to our cottages. An original creation by Piwi and Pocadi.
